This is the last weekend to tour the 2009 Southern Living Idea House built at Hemlock Springs in Dahlonega, Georgia. The tour of this home will provide inspiration for those building, remodeling, or decorating a home. The Idea House, built by Linger Longer Homes, is a wonderful example of a casual but polished mountain home in the Achasta community.

The Idea House, which overlooks the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, is a three-bedroom, three-and-a-half bath residence featuring nearly 3,800-square feet of interior space, plus abundant outdoor living areas. The home features include a family studio, upstairs retreat, grilling deck, and dream kitchen with an emphasis on well-coordinated finishes and fabrics.

The Idea House will be open until Sunday, October 18. Hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday – Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 (a portion of the proceeds will benefit the United Way of Lumpkin County, a division of the United Way of Hall County).

Directions: From Atlanta, take 400 North. Continue on 400 North/U.S. 19 North. Turn left at South Chestatee/State 249/State 60/U.S. 19. Go approximately 2.5 miles, and turn right into the main entrance of Achasta. Follow the signs to the Southern Living Idea House. The distance from Atlanta is approximately 50 miles.

Can’t make it to Dahlonega this weekend, then take a video tour online at Southern Living Idea House 2009.
