February 14 isn’t just Valentine’s Day but it’s also the first day of the Chinese New Year. I’m using traveling to Las Vegas around the beginning of the Chinese New Year and can therefore enjoy the incredibly beautiful floral presentation celebrating the Chinese New Year in the atrium botanical gardens of the Bellagio Las Vegas. If you have a newborn in 2010 or you were born in one of the previous Tiger years indicated below here’s a fun look into this year’s Chinese zodiac: the Tiger.
I was born the year of the Pig. Now you can’t go guessing what year I was born but it will give you some fun insight into me.
Year of the Tiger 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010
Tigers do not find worth in power or money. They will be completely honest about how they feel and expect the same of you. On the other hand, they seek approval from peers and family. Generally, because of their charming personalities Tigers are well liked. Often, failing at a given task or being unproductive in his personal or professional life can cause a Tiger to experience a depression. Criticism from loved ones can also generate this type of Tiger reaction. Still, like all felines, Tigers always land on their feet, ready for their next act in life, pursuing it with unyielding energy and hunting it infallibly.
Year of the Pig or Boar 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007
“It’s better to give than to receive” would probably be the Pig’s motto. Pigs are more comfortable giving of their own time or attention than they are to ask others for it. They do not find asking for help an easy task and would rather carry the burden themselves. Pigs will do anything they can to maintain a sense of peace amongst family or friends. This can lead to a tendency to be taken advantage of, but Pigs basically forgive and forget everything. They are compassionate souls who simply want to keep the peace.
