With Valentine’s Day on Sunday I’ve asked our friends at Sherlock’s Wine Merchant in Buckhead to recommend the perfect wine with chocolate. They’ve suggested Giulio Cocchi Brachetto d’Acqui NV (Asti Italy), a light to medium bodied, highly aromatic frizzante (sparkling) wine with distinctive notes of strawberries, ripe red cherries and flowers. In the DOCG region of Brachetto d’Acqui, the grape is used to produce a slightly sweet sparkling wine that is similar to Lambrusco and is sometimes called the light red equivalent of Moscato d’Asti. Above all they assure us there is simply no better wine to serve with chocolate—no matter the kind and style! Price $18.99. Sherlock’s Wine Merchants, 3401 Northside Parkway, Atlanta, 404.233.1514. See other Sherlock’s Wine Merchant locations at www.sherlocks.com.
