You haven’t had pickles until you’ve had a Wickles? What’s a Wickles you ask? We’ll Wickles are, as the company tagline perfectly describes is “a wickedly delicious pickle.” I was first introduced to Wickles by my friend ‘Wendy Squared’ (See Our Julia Child’s Dinner and More). Wickles pickle products are produced by Sims Foods in Dadeville, Alabama—our Alabama neighbors just 30 minutes northwest of Auburn, Alabama—based on an almost 80-year-old secret family recipe that make Wickles uniquely spicy and sweet.
Until the company started their specialty consumer production, only close family and friends were able to enjoy what was produced by the Sims family—lucky them, but now lucky us. I love them straight from the jar and on sandwiches but tasted tested the relish in tuna au poivre salad this weekend. Yummy! The Wickles family of products includes Wickles Pickles, Relish, Wicked Pepper Rings, Wicked Pepper Strips and the newest additions Okra, and Hoagie and Sub Relish. Their products are sold at specialty and gourmet stores as well as select supermarkets like Publix. You’ll have to try. Also all of their products are available online at www.simsfoods.com.
