Hunger never takes a vacation or a holiday and since With a Southern Twist is so food focused it makes sense that we write about how you can address our community’s food needs for the less fortunate in Atlanta, especially at this time of year. The Atlanta Community Food Bank makes it easy for you to make a food donation by either stopping by the Food Bank any day, Monday — Friday during their business hours 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. or in assisting you in coordinating a traditional or virtual food drive in your neighborhood or at work. Visit their Food Drive Web page to learn more about the traditional and virtual food drive options or call 404.892.FEED x1233 (food donations) or x1227 (food drives). Better yet, simply click this link and donate via the With a Southern Twist Virtual Food Drive. Here are the food items that are most needed (but please no food items packed in glass):

  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned Tuna
  • Canned Beans
  • Canned Soups, Stews and Pastas
  • 100% Fruit Juice
  • Canned Fruits and Vegetables
  • Macaroni and Cheese Dinners
  • Whole Grain, Low Sugar Cereals
