Try to Contain Yourself

The Container Store in Atlanta recently moved from its location at the corner of Peachtree Road and Piedmont to its newer, bigger location — that’s 28,000 square feet which is over 10,000 sq. feet larger than the old store — now at Peachtree Road and Wieuca Road (adjacent to Phipps Plaza). I recently had the opportunity to get a sneak peek of the new store before it was open to the public in mid-November. You’ll expect to find storage solutions in every shape and size including more than 120 food storage solutions, 700 organized office products, 45 types of laundry hampers, 350 products to organize a traveler and 80 styles of hangers. Plus just in time for the holiday, an entire aisle of gift wrapping papers, bow, ribbon and more.

The Container Store has 80 styles of hangers in every shape, size and color.

Need stocking stuffers? Then roam every aisle and you’ll find all sorts of unique items. A few of my favorite are the Every Drop Spatula which allows you to use every last bit of product in a jar or bottle — no shaking, tapping or rolling required. The long stem reaches the bottom of even tall containers, ensuring you get your money’s worth from every product in your cosmetics and skin care collection. SRP $4.99; the Gal Pal™ Wardrobe Essentials: These ingenious sponges are specially designed to quickly and easily remove deodorant marks from clothing. SRP $9.99; and the Squadron & WorkDarts Pushpins: Add a bit of whimsy to your bulletin board with these clever pushpins. Choose from a squadron of metal paper airplanes or plastic darts. Each package of six features stainless steel points. SRP $4.99 each.

The Container Store has hundreds of solutions to get you organized. This one aisle of products shows colors and style galore.

A few great customer service surprises include The Container Store’s GoShop Services: Just shop online, click and pickup your order at your closet location with curbside carryout at most locations; and The Gift Registry that can be establish for more than a wedding including baby, graduation, housewarming and other celebrations.

The Container Store is also opening five new stores next year and one of their stores is relocating to a bigger location like the Atlanta store did. The new locations include Tampa, Florida (opening March 16, 2013), Orlando, Florida (April 27, 2013), Boca Raton, Florida (opening June 15, 2013), Virginia (TBD) and Pal Alto, California (TBD), while the Ft. Worth, Texas location will relocate to a new store location.

  1. Hi Wendy,
This sounds like an all day event. I thought IKEA took a lot of time.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I can’t wait to check it.
