This is the last week to tour the Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles 2012 Christmas House that benefits the Alliance Theatre (open Thursday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday, noon – 5 p.m.). Get inspired by the work of 15 local Atlanta interior designers that have decorated this custom home that has the feeling of an updated New England farmhouse with breathtaking interiors plus the addition of Christmas accents and décor throughout the house.
The home is welcoming and comfortable while still elegant and inspiring. As you tour the home you’ll find each room uniquely and beautifully decorated. It appears that there was a concerted collaboration of all the designers to make the home work together beautifully even though you know each one worked independently to showcase their style and talents; but it’s not apparent. Beautiful furnishings and art, rugs, accessories, lighting and wall and ceiling treatments — both wood, paint color and paper.
My favorite rooms were the kitchen and living room combination with it’s beautiful white marble counter top and beamed ceiling. It was opened and had great natural lighting. The master bathroom had an elegantly crafted groin-titled ceiling with a free-standing silver tub; and the nursery incorporated an L-shaped sofa and fur blanket for any mom to comfort a newborn in chic style.
The residence is located at 4775 Dudley Lane in the Chastain Park area. There is no parking at the Christmas House so complimentary parking and continuous shuttle service is available at Chastain Horse Park (4371 Powers Ferry Road, near the intersection of W. Wieuca Road NW). For more information, to purchase tickets and detailed directions, please visit www.AtlantaChristmasHouse.com.
