Barbecued Cashews

This is a very tasty appetizer and really easy to fix. Buy a big jar of whole cashews at Costco so you can make a double batch and have plenty of plain cashews left over for snacks. This is an old Southern Living recipe but I modified to use worcestershire sauce vs. white wine worcestershire and I only bake for 10 minutes.

Barbecued Cashews

2 tablespoons of butter or margarine

1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon hot sauce (I prefer Frank’s Hot Sauce)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon chili powder

2 cups cashews

Melt butter in a large saucepan. Remove from heat; add worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, hot sauce, salt, chili powder, and red pepper, stirring well. Add cashews, stirring to coat well.

Spread cashews on a foil-lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Place cashews on paper towels, and cool completely. Yield: 2 cups.
