Did you know?
- Stories are posted DAILY except weekends and holidays in the categories of Food, Restaurants, Travel, For Your Home, Shopping and Just for Fun. That’s over 235 stories to date.
- All stories are archived on the site for easy reader reference in the above categories and there’s also a handy Search box to find previous stories.
- The site had four featured writers over the last year and I’ve realized that my readers do enjoy hearing from other people besides myself so this will increase in year two.
- With a Southern Twist is on Facebook at www.facebook.com/withasoutherntwist and currently has a milestone of 125 great fans. Keep ‘em coming.
- With a Southern Twist is on Twitter at www.twitter.com/asoutherntwist which also has a direct feed to the home page of the site. I tweet on subjects that complement the categories of stories featured on the site.
- With a Southern Twist also posts its food stories on www.foodbuzz.com.
- Our Top Five With a Southern Twist stories the first year based on our largest daily Web site hits were as follows:
- Woodfire Grill Hosts BBQ & Beer Event for Fourth Celebration
- Sweetwater Brewery Tours
- Pantygram your Valentine
- A B&B with a Woman’s Southern Touch
- Empower a Young Woman with a Prom Dress
- Wendy and her husband, Tim, entertaining alfresco.
Over the course of July we’ll be celebrating our first year of publication. At this time I’d like to the following people that truly assisted me this last year: Tim, my husband for being so supportive and all my friends and family for believing in me and encouraging me to pursue my talents and passions through this venue. My mom and dad for digging up and sending me old photos to share on the site, Alison Duncan for designing a great With a Southern Twist logo and business cards (everyone loves them), Thomas Duncan, my Web programmer, for all his time and patience as we created the initial site to all the enhancements and upgrades over the year. Thanks to Diane Mitchell for being my first Facebook fan and getting the fan base growing, Asheley Morris for getting me over the social media network hurdle, Kelly Wisecarver and Louisa Liss for your invaluable feedback, the many businesses and companies that have hyperlinked from their site to mine, and for all the companies that sent products for me to test or to do fan giveaways. And to everyone that impacted me and the site in so many different ways this last year…Thank you. So here’s to another exciting year at With a Southern Twist.5/31/2010
Enjoy your Memorial Day. In remembrance of this day, I would like to thank all the men and women that have served our country so we can have and enjoy the freedoms we have today. Since I come from a military family I’d like to especially thank my dad (retired Navy who served 22 year including a stint outside of Vietnam), my Uncle Jerry (ex-Marine who was called to Vietnam) and my maternal grandfather (who served in the Army during the Korean War).
