Our Southern girl, Julia Roberts, from Smyrna, Georgia, will be starring in “Eat, Pray, Love” released on Friday, August 13, based on the best-selling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert. Although I so enjoy Roberts when she plays a Southern character as with Shelby in “Steel Magnolias” (1989) but in “Eat, Pray, Love” she plays New Yorker, Liz Gilbert, who’s newly divorced decides to leave her job and travel the world in search of self discovery. She accomplishes this by eating her way through Italy no less, praying through India, and falling in love in Bali.
The food featured in the film is good enough to eat and that’s because Susan Spungen, food editor and cookbook author, was the food stylist for “Eat, Pray, Love” as well as other films that us foodies love including “Julie & Julia” and “It’s Complicated” See more about the “Eat, Pray, Love” at www.LetYourselfGo.com.
