Step out of your comfort zone and into the living room of Atlanta’s Horizon Theatre Company’s production of “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” that premiered this weekend and runs through June 28. This hilarious comedy by playwright Christopher Durang won the 2013 Tony award for best play. The scene for this play is set in the morning room of a farmhouse in Bucks County, Pennsylvania overlooking a pond. Mix in sibling rivalry, a costume party, a clairvoyant housekeeper and a twenty-something boy toy, who’s shirtless more of the time, and it’s sure to make you laugh.
The venue of the theatre is small and intimate (about 172 seats) so there are no bad seats in the house, but more importantly the seats starts from the stage floor and up about 10 cozy levels, so you’ll be up close to all the actors. The cast of just five is superb and makes your appreciate the talent of being able to preform to a live audience and to memorized and articulated all those fabulous lines and antics that are sure to make you laugh.
